Parkes Street General Practice is a fully accredited surgery. It was established in 1982, and during this time has been caring for the growing community. We are a family friendly medical practice, aiming to provide full general medical care and advice on all health related matters.

Helensburgh Respiratory Clinic

Our respiratory clinic is funded and accredited by Department of Health. For information on our new testing clinic for COVID-19, please click HERE.

If you have cold or flu symptoms such as sore throat, cough, fever or shortness of breath, 
please book with our Respiratory Clinic which is located at our car park area.

Phone Consultation (Telehealth) is now available

  • All consultations are bulk billed. This may change as part of the federal government response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in response to the needs of patients with chronic health conditions.

  • The Telehealth service is phone based, no special software or internet connection is required.

  • This service is suitable for any consultation where a physical examination may not be necessary. Examples include minor respiratory or urinary tract infections, repeat prescriptions. Read more..

Meet Our Doctors

Dr Martin Gellatley

Dr Gellatley is the founding member of this practice, which began in 1982. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1978 and has a wealth of experience in primary health care and emergency medicines.

Dr Alexander Brooks

Dr Brooks worked at Wollongong Hospital and Shellharbour Hospital gaining experience in a breadth of disciplines prior to taking up General Practice. He enjoys sunny winter days spent by the beach and hiking the surrounding range on his weekends.

Dr Cindy Htet

Dr Htet graduated with an M B B S in 2005 and has wealth of experience in family medicine, both in Australia and Overseas. She received a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner in 2015 and has a keen interest in skin cancer, women's health and cosmetic procedures and has achieved post graduate qualifications in these areas.

Dr Meng Chen

Dr Chen graduated from the University of Sydney in 1986 and obtained a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner in 1994. He continues to work in both general practice and in accident and emergency and has a keen interest in musculo-skeletal medicine and sports medicine.
