Phase-2a Rollout

We will begin vaccinating people in Phase 2a starting from 3 May 2021 starting with all adults 50 years and over. Please book online, registere online and bring your ID/Medicare card.

Patients eligible in Phase 2a include:

  • Adults aged 50 years and over

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged 18-49 years

  • Other critical and high risk workers

Helensburgh Respiratory Clinic

Our respiratory clinic has been established in partnership with the Australian Government Department of Health to provide free short-term care of respiratory illnesses. Clinic is located at the back of our General Practice to provide the safest environment for assessment, treatment and covid-19 testing. For more information on our new testing clinic for COVID-19, please click HERE.

The purpose of the respiratory clinic is to assess, test and diagnose mild-to-moderate respiratory conditions, including COVID-19, influenza and pneumonia. Clinic bookings are ONLY for symptomatic patients.

NSW Health have requested that anyone who is unwell or has even mild flu-like symptoms, to arrange to be tested.

  • Pre-booking and registration are essential but no referral is required. 

  • Book by calling us on 4294 1400: you will receive a Covid Testing registration link via SMS. If you never tested before at our clinic, please fill out all information including mobile number, medicare no, your regular GP details, your symptom etc.. before your appointment. For future booking you do NOT need to complete the form again. 

  • Please DO NOT enter into our main GP surgery. Go straight to the white marquee at the back of our surgery.

For your convenience, we have a Laverty Pathology collection centre at our practice. This means you can save time by not having to travel elsewhere for pathology tests. Click here for Operating Hours.

All pathology request forms can be accepted. Patients using this service do not need to be patients of Parkes Street General Practice. No appointment necessary for blood collection.

Dr Martin Gellatley

Dr Gellatley is the founding member of this practice, which began in 1982. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1978 and has a wealth of experience in primary health care and emergency medicines.

Dr Chen graduated from the University of Sydney in 1986 and obtained a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner in 1994. He continues to work in both general practice and in accident and emergency and has a keen interest in musculo-skeletal medicine and sports medicine.

Dr Cindy Htet

Dr Htet graduated with an M B B S in 2005 and has wealth of experience in family medicine, both in Australia and Overseas. She received a fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner in 2015 and has a keen interest in skin cancer, women's health and cosmetic procedures and has achieved post graduate qualifications in these areas.
