What is Radio Frequency (RF) surgery?

How does the Pellevé RF surgery differ from traditional surgery?
Because RF uses radio waves instead of a scalpel, very fine, precise incisions can be made. Only the tissue cells adjacent to the wire electrode are affected, and are vaporised instead of being cut through with manual pressure, as with a scalpel.
Scalpels and scissors crush tissue, whereas radio waves can coagulate blood vessels as they make fine cuts, resulting in minimal bleeding, bruising and swelling.
